Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags

  • 2 cups water (boiling)

  • 1 cup cherry juice (unsweetened or light sweetened)

  • 1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 23 tbsp honey or sugar (optional, to taste)

  • ¼ tsp almond extract (for pie-like flavor)

  • 2 cups cold water

  • Ice cubes

  • Mint leaves or lemon slices (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Steep the black tea bags in 2 cups boiling water for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let it cool slightly.

  2. In a small saucepan, simmer pitted cherries with honey/sugar (if using) for 5–7 minutes until slightly broken down.

  3. Blend the cherry mixture and strain through a fine mesh to remove solids.

  4. In a pitcher, combine tea, cherry juice, strained cherry syrup, lemon juice, and almond extract. Stir well.

  5. Add cold water and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  6. Serve over ice with mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute green tea for black tea for a lighter taste.

  • Adjust sweetener based on your preference and the sweetness of the cherry juice.

  • Add sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy twist.
