  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or your choice)
  • 1 cooked chicken breast (grilled or shredded)
  • ½ avocado, sliced
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella)
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or butter
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • Lettuce, tomato slices (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat a skillet or sandwich press over medium heat.
  • Spread mayonnaise or butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • On the unbuttered side of one bread slice, layer cooked chicken, avocado slices, and cheese. Add optional lettuce and tomato if desired.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Place the sandwich in the skillet or sandwich press and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted (about 3-4 minutes per side).
