Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or chicken thighs)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for searing)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix (or homemade)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

For Homemade Ranch Seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried chives
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then sear on both sides until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in ranch seasoning, heavy cream, chicken broth, and Parmesan (if using). Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, coating it with the creamy ranch sauce. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to combine flavors.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Add Parmesan for extra depth of flavor, but it's optional.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice for a complete meal.
