  • Butter: 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  • Beef Broth: 1 cup of beef broth.
  • Sour Cream: 1 cup of sour cream.
  • Flour: 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
  • Dijon Mustard: 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Salt and Pepper: To taste.
  • Egg Noodles: 8 ounces of wide egg noodles (or your preferred side).
  • Optional Ingredients: Paprika: 1 teaspoon for added flavor; Parsley: Chopped fresh parsley for garnish; White Wine: 1/4 cup for deglazing the pan.

Instructions

  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender and browned.
  • Stir in flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Optionally, add white wine and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Lower the heat and stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Return beef to the skillet, stirring to combine and heat through. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
  • Serve beef stroganoff over egg noodles. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, deglaze the pan with white wine before adding beef broth.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste with salt, pepper, and paprika.
