Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional for sweetness)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  • Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess, and fry in batches for 4-6 minutes, until golden and crispy. Drain on a paper towel.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey (if using) to make the bang bang sauce.
  • Toss the crispy chicken pieces in the sauce or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can bake or air fry the chicken pieces instead of deep frying.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha in the sauce to control the heat level.
