Ingredients

Scale
  • Crust:
    • 1 cup unsalted butter
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Filling:
    • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/4 cup maple syrup
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 3 large eggs
    • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Make the Crust: Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter. In a bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, sugar, and salt. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Prepare the Filling: In a saucepan, melt 3/4 cup unsalted butter over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown. Remove from heat and stir in the brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, maple syrup, and salt. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Mix Filling: Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Bake: Pour the filling over the baked crust. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Make sure the butter browns evenly to get the best nutty flavor.
  • Let the bars cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
