  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Optional Add-ons/Variations:

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup baby spinach
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add cubed chicken, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned.
  3. Add onion and garlic, sautรฉing until soft and fragrant.
