  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  • Flatten chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet.
  • Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in the third.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the eggs, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides (3-4 minutes per side).
  • Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish. Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC).
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with pasta or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • You can prepare the chicken ahead of time and bake just before serving.
