Enjoy a delicious Chicken with Lemon Caper Sauce recipe featuring tender chicken breasts in a tangy, savory lemon caper sauce. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup flour (for dredging)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or additional chicken broth)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
  • Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook chicken breasts until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in chicken broth, white wine, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter and capers. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly squeezed lemon juice and zest for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of capers to taste if you prefer a milder or stronger briny flavor.
