Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Coat each cheese ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the cheese balls in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
