Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups uncooked pasta (penne or rotini works best)
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat, pizza sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and diced onions and bell peppers. Mix well.
  4. Spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  5. Layer the ingredients in the crockpot: pasta, meat sauce mixture, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with cheese on top.
  6. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Add your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, or cooked bacon for extra flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add more veggies like zucchini or spinach.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
