  • 8-10 taco shells (soft or hard)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
  • Warm the taco shells according to the package instructions.
  • Fill each taco shell with the seasoned beef mixture.
  • Top with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, and chopped cilantro if desired.
