  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the thinly sliced potatoes evenly.
  • Add the sliced onions on top of the potatoes, followed by the cooked ground beef.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk, and pour it evenly over the casserole.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then top with shredded cheddar cheese and dot with butter.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the top.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
