Honey Butter Chicken is a sweet and savory dish featuring tender, crispy chicken breasts or thighs coated in a rich honey butter sauce with garlic and soy sauce. Quick and easy to prepare, this flavorful chicken recipe makes a perfect weeknight dinner that uses common kitchen staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (about 4) boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or chicken thighs)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)

For the Honey Butter Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in honey and soy sauce, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the honey butter sauce. Let it cook for another minute to caramelize.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier result if preferred.
  • For added heat, sprinkle in red pepper flakes or drizzle with sriracha.
  • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or a side of veggies.
