Enjoy a taste of the tropics with this Jamaican lemonade recipe, featuring lime, fresh ginger, and mint. A refreshing, zingy drink perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 6-8 limes)
  • 1/2 cup fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 cups water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the sliced ginger and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and strain the ginger water into a pitcher.
  • Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Add the fresh lime juice and mint leaves to the pitcher. Stir well.
  • Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices and mint sprigs.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to taste.
  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of ginger.
  • You can also muddle the mint leaves gently to release more flavor.
