Featuring ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan, this rich casserole is perfect for a comforting, easy-to-make dinner. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for added flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese or meat ravioli
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey or Italian sausage)
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the meat: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix the cheese filling: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer the casserole: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer half of the frozen ravioli on top. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the ravioli, followed by half of the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat with remaining layers.
  5. Bake: Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For added flavor, substitute ground beef with Italian sausage or a blend of meats.
  • Use store-bought marinara for convenience or homemade sauce for a personalized touch.
  • Make it ahead of time and store in the fridge before baking.
