  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water or beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, jalapeรฑos

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onions are softened. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and water (or broth). Stir well to combine.
  5. Bring the chili to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like cheese, sour cream, or green onions.

Notes
