Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Season the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat the skillet: Add vegetable oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear chicken thighs skin-side down for 6-8 minutes until crispy.
  • Cook through: Flip the chicken and continue cooking for another 10-12 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Bang Bang sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and optional soy sauce until smooth.
  • Serve: Drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the chicken thighs. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of heat by adding more or less sriracha to the sauce.
  • For an extra crispy skin, finish the chicken in the oven under the broiler for a few minutes.
  • Serve with rice or vegetables to round out the meal.
