Make these irresistible Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwiches with tender shredded beef, bold Italian spices, and tangy pepperoncini peppers.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced) with juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • Optional: Sliced provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Place the beef chuck roast in your slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the roast.
  • Add the beef broth and pour in the pepperoncini peppers and their juice.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  • Shred the beef using two forks and mix it into the juices in the slow cooker.
  • Serve on hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese if desired.

Notes

  • To add heat, use spicy pepperoncini or add red pepper flakes.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls for extra crunch.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
