This easy-to-make beverage is perfect for hot days and can be customized with basil, strawberries, or ginger for extra flavor. Serve chilled with ice cubes and lemon slices for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • Watermelon: 4 cups of cubed seedless watermelon (about half a medium watermelon)
  • Lemon Juice: 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4-6 lemons)
  • Sugar or Honey: 1/2 cup (adjust to taste)
  • Water: 2 cups of cold water
  • Mint Leaves: A handful of fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice Cubes: As needed to chill the lemonade
  • Lemon Slices: For garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a blender, puree the watermelon until smooth.
  • Strain the watermelon juice into a large pitcher to remove any pulp.
  • Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar or honey to the pitcher, stirring until the sweetener dissolves.
  • Pour in the cold water and mix well.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Serve over ice cubes, garnished with mint leaves and lemon slices.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar or honey.

  • Add fresh basil, strawberries, lime juice, ginger, or cucumber slices for variation.
