  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish. Layer half of the potato slices at the bottom of the dish.
  5. Spread half the cooked ground beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half the cream of mushroom soup over the beef and sprinkle with half the cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup, and cheese.
  8. Pour milk evenly over the layers. Cover the dish with foil.
  9. Bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
