  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache
  • 1 cup chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Stir in boiling water until well combined. Batter will be thin.
  • Divide batter evenly between the cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool completely before assembling.
  • Spread a layer of chocolate frosting on one cake layer, then place the second layer on top.
  • Cover the entire cake with chocolate ganache.
  • Decorate with chocolate chips, shavings, crushed cookies, and additional chocolate drizzle.
