This Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese recipe is a quick and delicious twist on the classic sandwich. Featuring golden, buttery bread layered with shredded chicken, tangy marinara, Parmesan, and gooey mozzarella, it’s the perfect comfort food for busy lunches or dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (Italian, sourdough, or white)
  • 1/2 cup cooked shredded chicken (or sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons marinara sauce
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter (softened, for grilling)
  • Optional: Fresh basil or Italian seasoning for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place one bread slice, buttered side down, on the skillet.
  • Add 1 slice of mozzarella, shredded chicken, marinara sauce, and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Top with the second slice of mozzarella and the remaining slice of bread, buttered side up.
  • Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot. Garnish with basil or Italian seasoning if desired.

  • For faster prep, use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken.
