The pizza burger pie recipe blends the best of both worlds: a juicy beef burger and savory pizza. With a flaky pie crust, cheese, and classic pizza toppings, this dish is a hit for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pie Crust:
    • 1 package (14 oz/400g) refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
  • Filling:
    • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 cup (240ml) pizza sauce
    • 1 1/2 cups (170g) shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 cup (75g) chopped pepperoni
    • 1/2 cup (75g) chopped bell peppers
    • 1/2 cup (75g) sliced black olives
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in pizza sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Spoon the beef mixture into the crust.
  • Layer mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, and black olives over the beef mixture.
  • Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal. Cut small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize with your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, sausage, or different cheeses.
  • For a crispier crust, brush the top with a beaten egg before baking.
